The Day After

The morning after the typhoon had passed, we were greeted with this:
So we hopped on a taxi to Tsuen Wan Station instead.
Schadenfreude!
Today, we were going to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC, 香港會議展覽中心) for the last day of the Hong Kong Book Fair (香港書展).  This isn't your normal grade school book fair... here's the lineup to get into the lineup to get in, about half a kilometre outside the convention centre:

Finally finished the lineup to the lineup, we go up some escalators (to the right of this shot) and form a snake-like line to get back down the escalators to get to the entrance...

The place is massive, and massively full of people.  I'm pretty sure that most Chinese language publications that are still in print could be found here.  It was hard to actually try to get something, though, with throngs of people around you, vendors bombarding you with pitches, and the occasional peddler giving some free stuff in the middle of the aisles.

Back at home, we had a(n extended) family dinner:
